“Strike” up the band — again!

I would say once every three to four weeks … I will see, hear or walk into a strike. All protests shut down numerous streets while they march to Hotel De Ville (City Hall) or the federal government headquarters of Assemble National (the equivalent to our Capital building in Washington D.C.)

This particular strike was to try and stop the French government from removing the school nursing programs/personnel from under the federal government’s arm and handing over jurisdiction to the individual districts (states) throughout France – if this transition occurred -hundreds of school nurses would lose their jobs because individual states do not see the need to subsidize so many nurses to accommodate so few schools in their district. These nurses and their supporters came from all corners of France for this protest.

A massive protest by Sanofi employees – protesting the CEO’s plan to cut 100′s of jobs.

They were handing out fake money with the picture of Sanofi’s CEO — signifying he only cares about money and not people!
