La Raclette — It must be winter!
La Raclette is one of the two most popular and traditional wintery meals in France! This rich and comforting meal is potato, cheese and charcuterie based.
Stéphane and Flavia hosted and introduced me to this very fun, interactive meal with friends.
The term raclette is derived from the French word racler, meaning “to scrape”. You place your individual small pan (known as a coupelle and used for melting the raclette cheese) under an electric table-top grill.
If you were wondering what was the other most popular wintery dish in France…no question, hands down it’s Tartiflette! Tartiflette is a baked dish of sliced or diced potatoes, reblechon cheese, and lardons (bacon) ! This speciality dish is the most popular in France and let’s just say, after eating tartiflette you will be in a food coma for hours, possibly days :)!
